Ghazi University Revives Faculty Recruitment, Marks Major Step Towards Academic Strengthening
In another significant milestone towards strengthening the academic profile of the university, Ghazi University, Dera Ghazi Khan, has resumed faculty recruitment after a considerable interval.
The initiative is aimed at enhancing academic capacity, improving the student-teacher ratio, and addressing existing faculty deficiencies in various disciplines.
A meeting of the Selection Board was convened under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Ashfaq Ahmad, Vice Chancellor, Ghazi University. The Selection Board comprised Mr. Muhammad Anwar Rasheed, Ms. Shazia Abid (MPA), Prof. Dr. Shahid Soroya, Campus Director, COMSATS University Sahiwal, and Prof. Dr. Samina Naseem, College of Arts & Design, University of the Punjab, Lahore, and Former Chairperson, Department of Fine Arts, College of Arts & Design, University of the Punjab, as members. Dr. Muhammad Asif, Registrar, Ghazi University, served as Secretary to the Selection Board.
The selection process was supported by a distinguished panel of subject experts drawn from leading universities and academic institutions. The panel included Prof. Dr. Dost Muhammad Khan, Dean, Faculty of Computing, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur; Dr. Malik Muhammad Saad Missen, Associate Professor/Chairman, Department of Software Engineering, IUB; Prof. Dr. Ayesha Hakeem, Faculty of Computing, MNS University of Agriculture, Multan; Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq, Faculty of Computer Science, MNS University of Agriculture, Multan; Dr. Adnan Tahir, Associate Professor/Chairperson, Department of English, Emerson University, Multan; Prof. Dr. Naveed Ahmad Choudhry, Former Director, English Language Centre, Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan; Dr. Uzma Sadiq, Associate Professor, Department of English, University of Education, Dera Ghazi Khan Campus; Dr. Hafiz Gulfam Ahmad Umer, Chairperson, Department of Computer Science & IT, Ghazi University; and Dr. Muhammad Asif, Teacher In-Charge, Department of English, Ghazi University.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Ashfaq Ahmad, Vice Chancellor, Ghazi University, stated that the recruitment of additional faculty members would play a pivotal role in strengthening the university's academic structure. He emphasized that the initiative would help improve the student-teacher ratio, ensure better academic delivery, and gradually address faculty shortages and academic deficiencies across various departments.
The Vice Chancellor further reaffirmed the university administration's commitment to creating a stronger academic environment by attracting qualified and competent faculty members, thereby enhancing the quality of teaching, learning, research, and academic services at Ghazi University.
The resumption of faculty recruitment is being viewed as an important step in the university's ongoing efforts to strengthen its academic foundations and build a more robust, competitive, and student-centered institution.
