Dr. Shahzadi Mahpara is an accomplished agricultural scientist with a Ph.D. and M.Sc(Hons) Agri. in Plant Breeding and Genetics from University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, and more than two decades of academic and research experience. Her expertise encompasses crop improvement, quantitative genetics, molecular breeding, mutation breeding, and the development of climate-resilient crops, particularly wheat, cotton, sunflower, pulses, chilli, and tomato. She has more than 50 publication in national and International Journals with Categories Q1, Q2, Q3 etc. More than 20 postgraduate students completed their degrees. She also an active member of many international scientific societies including Science Diplomacy in South Asia as well as alumnius of CIMMYT, Mexico and successfully completed various advanced courses related to advnaced techinques in Plant Breeding from CIMMYT, Mexico and Cornell University (CALS) , USA. Her research focuses on genetic diversity, yield enhancement, and tolerance to heat and drought stress through the integration of conventional breeding, molecular approaches, and crop evaluation. She has contributed to national and international scientific publications, supervised postgraduate research, and participated in professional scientific activities, including advanced wheat improvement training through CIMMYT. She has also participated in conferences as an invited speaker and expert panelist at various universities, including the University of the Punjab, Lahore; the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad; MNS University of Agriculture, Multan; GC University, Lahore; the University of Agriculture, Swat; and the University of Agriculture, Rawalakot, AJK. Internationally, she has participated in conferences at University in Antalya, Turkey, and Mardewa University, Bali, Indonesia, BICOL University, Phillipines, where she presented her research work and established research collaborations with institutions and researchers in Turkey, the Philippines, Indonesia, China, and other countries.
